Nine Alberta Regions Select AIS to provide eLeaning Instructional Systems

Winnipeg Manitoba - Mr. Gerry Labossiere, President of AIS Assessment & Intelligence Systems Inc. (AIS) announced today that all nine Alberta Health Regions have selected AIS to provide the region with both the Mastering RAI 2.0 and Mastering RAI HC elearning instructional systems to assist in the deployment of RAI 2.0 and RAI Home Care within the province.

The nine Alberta health regions include Aspen Regional Health Authority, Calgary Health Region, Capital Health, Chinook Health Region, David Thompson Health Region, East Central Health Region, Palliser Health Region, Peace Country Health Region and Northern Lights Health Region. The nine health regions encompass a population of approximately 3.1 million people and provide services to 177 nursing homes consisting of over 14,000 LTC beds.

"When fully implemented the RAI 2.0 and RAI HC will offer managers and clinicians within the health regions unparalleled access to information allowing more efficient management of their care operations" stated Tim Baribeau, Vice-President of AIS. "For the health regions to realize the full potential of the RAI instruments, they must develop a sustainable education strategy to support initial and ongoing education of the RAI instruments. The Mastering RAI solutions provided by AIS will provide the health regions a cost effective means to deliver high quality, standardized education for years to come."

The Mastering the RAI 2.0 and Mastering the RAI HC are multimedia eLearning systems that integrate the expert advice of instructional designers, certified MDS trainers, leading MDS researchers and proven instructional material. Mastering the RAI 2.0 and Mastering the RAI HC are based on an instructional framework that combines the principles of situated cognition, reflective practice and motivational design to strengthen the links between the learner’s experience and day-to-day experience in the workplace. Target audiences include nurses, social workers, other multidisciplinary team members, MDS instructors, administrators, policy makers and researchers. The learning is situated within real life scenarios through the use of video and audio clips of clinical interactions and case studies.
