You have 6 months from the date you purchase CMAC to complete the course.
After enrolling in the certification program, you will receive instructions on how to access AIS Central, the online learning website where you complete online training and tests required by the CMAC program.
To complete the CMAC learning requirements, learners will need to successfully pass examinations for the following courses in the AIS Central learning system:

The CMAC Certification also provides participants the ability to earn industry recognized CE’s as they progress through the certification curriculum. To earn eligible CE’s, learners must pass the competency exam as well as complete a survey following exam.

The certification period is 365 days from the date on which you successfully completed the CMAC learning requirements. You will receive notifications by email when your certification expiry date is approaching.

NOTE: You must renew your certification before it expires.

Learners will be able to retake any exam up to three (3) times.
Should additional attempts be required, the learner will be be able to have the exam reset for one (1) additional take.

  • For Personal Edition CMAC candidates, there is a $50 reset fee

A learner who does not agree with the results of an exam or the certification program may appeal the results, in writing, within 30 days of completing an exam. To make an appeal, a learner must submit payment of a $50 appeal fee (available from the SMART STORE on the AIS website). After receiving payment the learner will receive instructions for how to submit the appeal. A verbal or emailed appeal will not be accepted.

The Certification Advisory Board will review the appeal within 90 days from receipt of the appeal notice. The decision of the Certification Advisory Board will be binding. If the appeal is successful the appeal fee will be refunded.

Your Certification will lapse if you do not renew your Certification 365 days after you have completed CMAC.
The CMAC program is overseen by an advisory board of industry experts. The CMAC advisory Board is a vital part of the CMAC certification program. The Advisory Board consists of experienced industry leaders who wish to give back to the Senior Care Market by taking an active role in the CMAC certification program. CAB members are recognized for their expertise in the MDS process, care planning, quality improvement and reimbursement.

For CMAC and online courses & webinars, we are unable to accept returns once the online course has been logged into, viewed, or attended.
Yes your CMAC Certification is portable and transferable to your new position. If you change jobs, please contact us at support@aissystems.com, and provide us with your new information. You can then resume completing your CMAC certification or recertification
You can become certified again after your certification expires, however you will need to re-enroll and meet all the requirements you met the first time you were certified, including paying the initial enrollment fee.
